Rustic 19th century country French provincial farmhouse trestle work table crafted from walnut. The table features a large rectangular plank top with breadboard ends constructed with wood peg joinery. The top has a desirable weathered patina with age cracks and prior insect damage visible. The top is supported by a large trestle base with thick square legs that have been chamfered. The legs are conjoined by a long stretcher. The trestle base is fitted with 3 storage drawers, one in the center and one on each end. The drawers are heavy and slide easily with iron pulls. The table measures 22.75 inches from the floor to the apron on the sides and 21.5 inches on the ends. Excellent example of a 19th century French kitchen workhorse that had several duties. The versatile table cold serve as a console, display or dining table. Classic European farmhouse profile with solid construction.
